The QCY brand was founded in 2009. It is famous for its audio products with unbelievable high cost-effect. Today I will share with you my hands-on experience of QCY T8 TWS earphone, which is QCY’s first TWS that supports in-ear detection. Let’s check out my QCY T8 TWS Earphone Review-$20 range no competitor.
The packaging of QCY T8 is the same as QCY T1C-nothing outstanding. The biggest difference is that the 3D rendering of the outer packaging product has been replaced with the color pattern of QCY T8.
What’s in the box
As for the accessories, it is still a semi-in-ear TWS standard 4-piece set, a charging box, a pair of earphones, a charging cable, and a product manual in English and Chinese.
The charging box of QCY T8 has a strong feeling of Apple AirPods. It is compact and easy to carry. The charging box cap carries a Hawk switch and supports connection when opening the box.
In terms of workmanship, I didn’t find any big flaws. There are no big gaps between the molds.
A power indicator is on the front of the charging box. With the help of the color change of the indicator light, you can have a preview of the battery status. The circular button below is mainly used to restore factory settings. Considering QCY T8 supports exclusive APP to control, adding this button will make the operation more convenient.
This time, to my surprise, QCY uses a USB Type-C port to its TWS product. It is rare to find a TWS product with a Type-C port at the same price. Thumb up to QCY!
QCY T8 TWS Earphones have a half-in-ear design, which improves the wearing experience. And this design can obviously reduce the ear pain after a long-time wearing. However, the noise cancelation brought by the earmuffs is missing.
Nowadays, mainstream TWS products generally use a pressure relief design to solve long-term wearing ear pain. The same is true for QCY T8. Pressure relief holes are designed in the cavity to reduce sound pressure. So what’s the actual experience? Please continue reading. 🙂
In addition, there are tuning holes on the cavity to improve the sound quality. The golden metal ring on the handle is to enhance the appearance, without an actual function.
As we all know, the mainstream TWS products with touch panels on the outer side of the handles may cause misoperation and it’s really general and annoying. To resolve this problem, the touch panel of QCY T8 is on the top of the handle. This design is really genius and I think it is much better than the pressure panel on AirPods Pro.
In terms of comfort, QCY T8 satisfies me. The half-in-ear design itself is more friendly to the ears than the in-ear design. The weight of 4g per earphone hard to sense. I wear it for around 1-hour per day and haven’t felt anything uncomfortable.
However, please be aware that it may harm your hearing if you wear earphones for more than 1 hour per day.
The in-ear detection feature is one of the features I love the most on TWS products. I am really astonished to see this function on a $20 product QCT T8. When you take off QCY T8 from your ear, the music will pause automatically. And if you wear it again, the music will play automatically.
It is really funny that QCY T8 is featured with SBC sound protocol by QCY, and QCY is promoting T8’s SBC compatibility on E-shops. But what can we say to a $20 TWS product? Just leave it alone.
QCY T8 uses a 13mm large dynamic unit to make up for the lack of audio coding details. In general, the mid-frequency performance is slightly better than the low-frequency performance. The human voice is clear and clean. Personally, I feel the sound quality is almost the same as Huawei FreeBuds 3 and it better than Havit i97 at a similar price range. However, the entire sound field is wider and much better than my expectation for a $20 product.
The Verdict Of QCY T8 TWS Earphone Review
In summary, the overall performance of QCY T8 is remarkable. The half-in-ear design allows users to get rid of the interference of the stethoscope. The in-ear detection feature allows you to ensure a seamless music connection when responding to incoming calls. The touch panel design reduces false touch. However, QCY T8 only supports SBC protocol at most pitifully. Hope in the next generation product QCY can improve the sound protocol.
So faced with some unbelievable features at a super low price, will you buy it?
